COMPTON, Calif. (AP) — A lawyer for Marion "Suge" Knight says the Death Row Records founder was at the wheel of a car that struck two men, killing one, in a Los Angeles suburb.
The accident in Compton occurred shortly before 3 p.m. Thursday.
James Blatt tells KABC-TV (http://bit.ly/1CEZg6W ) that Knight says he was attacked by two people and tried to escape in the car.
Blatt says Knight struck and killed a friend named Terry and slightly injured Cle Sloan, an actor who appeared in the movie "Training Day." He did not give the friend's last name.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department says two men were taken to a hospital, where one was pronounced dead and the other's condition is unknown.
Another Knight lawyer, Joseph Low, declined to say whether Knight was involved in the accident but said he will cooperate with investigators.
